The Food Safety/Sanitation Technician will be responsible for assisting with sanitation, food safety and quality assurance programs in day-to-day functions.
What You Will Do At Acme:
Sanitation:
- Perform daily pre-operational evaluations including visual inspections of processing areas/equipment and sanitation validation testing (ATP).
- Create daily reports for third party sanitation vendor with sanitation.
- Clean new equipment prior to entering processing areas.
- Perform scheduled calibrations on ATP units.
- Perform weekly sanitation on non-production areas, including dry goods storage, chemical room and organic waste areas.
- Complete quality records related to sanitation activities.
- Dispense and apply dry sanitizer at various intervals throughout processing hours.
Chemical:
- Receive chemicals and transfer to storage areas (fork-lift training required).
- Record chemical inventory on a weekly basis.
- Create chemical purchase orders based on inventory levels as needed.
- Maintain all chemical dispensing/measuring equipment.
- Perform scheduled titrations on equipment with automated cleaning procedures.
- Supply chemicals to processing areas for internal sanitation activities on a daily basis.
- Mix chemicals to appropriate concentrations for sanitation activities.
- Remove chemical storage totes and schedule pick-up of empty chemical containers with outside vendor.
Food Safety:
- Perform daily residual chlorine water testing.
- Collect potable water for third-party laboratory testing.
- Collect air monitoring samples.
- Perform pre-operational swabbing of processing equipment for environmental monitoring program.
- Perform food safety interventions on an as needed basis.
About You
Your Education & Experience:
- High school diploma.
- 2 years of quality experience in Food processing plant.
Your Skills & Abilities:
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to take ownership.
- Must be reliable, honest and proactive.
- Must be able to communicate well with others.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities.
- Excellent attitude.
- Willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work in 38-degree temperature.
Health & Safety Requirements:
- Observe and follow all safety rules.
- Wear required PPE.
- Follow mandated OSHA regulations.
- Report all incidents including near misses immediately.
